Recently we’ve taken the residents back to a more playful stage. This has not only meant a visit from ‘Animals2u South West’ where we had a selection of different animals; including 2 Tortoises a Bearded Dragon and a Fat tail Guinea-pig. We have also been getting out the residents competitive side with playing card games, dominoes, snakes and ladders, bingo, making puzzles all of which brought back lots of memories.

Residents have been enjoying lovely moments with their families during visits recently and we’ve captured a few of them. It’s wonderful to see smiles, laughter, and cherished memories being made together. These visits continue to bring warmth and joy to everyone’s day.
A very special moment to cherish – 4 Generations together. Welcome to the world Arthur James Nash. The perfect timing on the same day as Mum settles into Kent House.

Our resident’s have put everything into painting giant Poppies for Remembrance Day and sharing some childhood stories. What a wonderful way to honour the lives on this special day.

We’ve all been enjoying a variety of new puzzles and crafting- from matching games, painting ghosts and pumpkins to crosswords and word searches.
Perhaps it’s time to start a competitive puzzling group.

We had a lovely trip to Strawberry Fields Farm shop to visit their pumpkin patch and choose our pumpkins for carving. We were even lucky enough to have a second trip to Strawberry Fields and we had Rachal the activities co-ordinator from Dove Tree visiting us on that day so we were delighted to take her with us and show her what fun we have when we are out and about on the Wanderer. Pumpkin carving is a very tactile activity which everyone immersed themselves in and were delighted with their achievements.

An afternoon pumpkin picking at Orway Porch Farm!
At a time in life when firsts are few and far between, we were thrilled to share a brand new experience with our residents. Their very first pumpkin picking trip! A beautiful autumn day with plenty of pumpkins to choose from! Memories made and smiles all around. But who actually knew pumpkins came in so many shapes, sizes and colour!? Our residents were amazed at the variety on offer – surprises around every corner!
On Saturday we had a special blessing for Linda’s daughter Louise, and son in law Billy, who got married in the summer. As Linda was unable to attend, we recreated the day in her room with Rev Jules conducting the service, and all the family all dressed up! Linda’s partner Alan also sang a song he’d written for the couple. Louise and Billy made the most of our lovely garden, having photos taken by their photographer! They also enjoyed a wedding feast!

The Bluebell House Halloween Party was amazing not just from the decorations but from the fancy dress effort that was put in too. With the witching hour upon us the home was taken over and we were all reminded that you’re never to old for a selfie. With light up pumpkins, halloween songs and families memories the silly faces, laughter and photo shoots filled the home with such happiness. It was clear everyone had a great time.
