    Coronavirus 8/9/20

We continue to do everything we can to protect our residents and our teams during this challenging time, taking guidance from Public Health England. Now that lockdown restrictions have been lifted we are  welcoming new residents into our homes across the region to support those in need of care locally and the NHS.  We have a very strict admissions policy and our infection control procedures continue to be followed.

Whilst it is still the case that we cannot allow visitors into our homes, we are encouraging families to visit their loved one in specially created outdoor areas. These visits will need to be arranged with the Home Manager in advance. We do ask that all visitors wear a face covering throughout their visit and we will be checking temperatures and for other symptoms on arrival.  As the days begin to get cooler, we are busy making plans for warm, inside visits and will keep residents and their families informed!

We are now testing staff and residents on a regularly (weekly) basis, but we still continue to assess and check for symptoms anyone that enters our buildings for essential services.  Until regular tests are available for all, we will take temperatures, ensure regular hand washing and provide PPE to all staff, visiting health professionals, emergency contractors and so on.

All of our homes have been set up with Skype and extra mobile phones in order for you to keep in regular contact with loved ones. We continue to keep a relaxed and sociable atmosphere within the homes, with plenty of activities inside and in the garden.

Thank you all so much for your continued support and understanding – we are so aware that this is a difficult time for those of you with loved ones in our homes, but please rest assured that they are comfortable, safe, well fed and in good spirits.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Home Manager.
