St Petrocs, a residential care home in Bodmin, is looking for a Maintenance Person (approximately 30 hours per week although we can flexible for the right person). The Maintenance Person performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair duties including preventative, emergency, cosmetic and routine maintenance for the care home. The nature of the work requires physical effort and problem solving in performing tasks. Main responsibilities include:

Repairs
Painting/decorating
Plumbing
Electrical repairs
Plastering
Clearing drains
Test fire alarms and emergency lights
Some gardening and exterior work

You will also be required to read and write reports, take part in care team meetings and in training activities as directed. You should have good experience of general DIY including basic carpentry, painting and decorating. Ideally, two years experience in a similar role.

The role will include personal care, documentation, assisting people to bed and to get up in the morning, 2 hourly night time checks of residents and some night-time domestic duties (possibly ironing, cleaning etc).
