Must have level 2 qualification in care as a minimum and 1 year care experience in a care home. Kent House, a residential care home in Okehampton, needs Night Wake Carers for weekdays and weekends. We are looking for nice, friendly, dedicated people who will set high standards for themselves and be active members of the care team. We look for people who behave in a positive manner at all times, putting the best interests of the residents in their care at the heart of all that they do. The Night Awake shift runs from 9.00pm until 7.00am – a 10 hour shift. There are two Night Awake team members on duty in the home. There are also more hours available, day and night, if required.

Whilst there is a comprehensive training package available to all care team members, as this is a night duty position with only two people on the shift, successful applicants must be able to demonstrate a successful career in the Care Industry, having achieve NVQ2 or above in Care. The role will include personal care, documentation, assisting people to bed and to get up in the morning, 2 hourly night time checks of residents and some night-time domestic duties (possibly ironing, cleaning etc).

Our rates of pay are competitive and include elements of enhancements as follows:

Basic hourly rate – £9.03

Hourly rate after training complete – £9.18
