Repotting @ Primrose House

What an amazing few weeks we’ve had with the weather! We’ve been out in the garden enjoying the sunshine. We braved the fresh wind this afternoon to re-pot the sunflower seedlings into bigger pots. We only managed to re-pot 5 of them, only another 25 to go.

Car boot day & May Fair @Bluebell House

We’ve had such a wonderful time, from all the items our residents have made to exploring. Look at Carol as she takes the basket around outside selling to the stalls and public, poor Kevin had to push. We also weren’t sure if the dog was going to make a purchase but she looks interested.

Roses for the Residents @Woodhayes

To celebrate Mother’s Day, every female resident in our care home received a beautiful rose a small gesture to honour the love, strength, and wisdom they’ve shared throughout their lives. The joy was unmistakable. As staff delivered each rose, many residents reminisced about family traditions, gardens they once tended, and cherished Mother’s Days from years past. The home was filled with stories, laughter, and a lovely sense of togetherness. Mother’s Day is a reminder of the nurturing spirit that lives in so many of our residents, and this simple act brought a touch of beauty and appreciation to their day. Our community felt brighter, softer, and wonderfully connected.

Getting Crafty @ St Petrocs

Easter is in the air today and we are getting in the mood! Everybody helped out getting St Petrocs feeling ready with decorations and painting! What an amazing Easter we all shared. There were games, a raffle and a tombola, a visit from the Mayor, hat decorating, games, and visits from family and friends! Not to mention tucking in to all the chocolaty eggs! Here’s just some of the photos from Our Eggztravaganza.

Easter Egg Hunt @ The Lilacs

I’m not sure who had more fun our staff hiding the Easter eggs or our residents finding them. It was a lovely sunny day and we had hidden some of the eggs in garden for some variety too, before eating the chocolate in the sunshine. We then enjoyed an Easter quiz and Easter activity booklet containing word searches, dot to dots, spot the difference.

Chollacott’s Gardening Enthusiasts

We have been busy planting the pots up for the garden. Who knew we had some many green fingered people amongst us. We were lucky enough to venture outside to plant up the flower beds as well. Everyone is very pleased with their hard work and we can now sit back and watch everything grow.

How Tall Will The Sunflowers Grow @ Primrose House?

A few weeks ago we planted some sunflower seeds here at Primrose House and just loo at how well they’re doing already. They’ve been enjoying the sunny window we’ve placed them in front of and it will soon be time for them to go into the garden.

Sharing Chocolate Treasures @ The Manor

Spreading smiles and little treasures – A little chocolatey magic delivered to every resident this Easter! But we find that the best part of Easter is seeing all the smiles bloom so bright.

Springtime Planting @ Woodhayes

The star of the afternoon was our collection of hyacinths, which were carefully repotted into fresh soil. Their bright colours and sweet fragrance brought smiles all around. Residents enjoyed feeling the soil, arranging the bulbs, and chatting about gardens they once tended. Sowing seeds for the season ahead alongside the hyacinths, we planted a variety of seeds—each one a small
promise of the flowers and herbs to come. It was a gentle, calming activity that sparked conversation, memories, and plenty of laughter. Staff and residents worked side by side, creating a lovely sense of teamwork and shared purpose.

Hopping into Easter @ Chollacott House

This month we had a coffee morning on Good Friday, where we enjoyed a selection of cakes, Easter themed party games and the Easter Bonnet winner was announced. Not forgetting our special guest the Easter Bunny himself.
