This month we had a coffee morning on Good Friday, where we enjoyed a selection of cakes, Easter themed party games and the Easter Bonnet winner was announced. Not forgetting our special guest the Easter Bunny himself.

Here at The Lilacs we have been hopping into our Easter crafts. Our residents love being creative and have been making Easter cards to give to their family members, decorating eggs and bringing their bunnies to life.

It doesn’t matter what your age is everyone enjoys pancakes right?’ Well our residents certainly do; whether its the classic lemon and sugar or banana and maple syrup. It was smiles all round for this tasty treat some of the residents even added squirty cream too.

A little crafting with Anne and a gentle touch of spring in the air – means the crafting is in full bloom whilst we prepare for spring.
Because it is never too early to brighten the days ahead! The girls have been busy crafting with Anne, working hard on our Easter project for the second week in a row! With some exciting plans for decorations, everyone is putting in lots of effort to make sure everything looks wonderful in time. Maureen, Isobel, Anne and I are proudly showing off our Easter ducks! Isobel may be here for just a short stay, but she has joined in with so many activities and her smile lights up the room! It’s such a pleasure having her with us, especially helping with our Easter crafts!

Last month, our community came together for a milestone that doesn’t come around often—Jean’s 100th birthday—and the celebration was every bit as joyful as the occasion deserved. With family, friends, and fellow residents gathered around, the room was full of chatter, smiles, and the kind of stories that only a century of living can inspire. And because turning 100 is no small feat, one cake simply wasn’t enough. We had two! Both were enjoyed with great enthusiasm, and Jean made sure to sample each one with her trademark sparkle and
humour. When she blew out her candles, the applause was loud, the laughter was warm, and the moment felt truly special. It was a celebration overflowing with love, memories, and a wonderful
sense of togetherness—exactly the kind of day that reminds us why our community feels like home.
We enjoyed a wonderful visit to the local theatre to watch ‘whistle in the wind’. Marjorie and her granddaughter had a lovely afternoon, taking in a show with, of course a nice glass of wine.

We celebrated Valentine’s with a Valentine’s themed coffee morning, we had a Valentine’s quiz and we held a raffle for the resident’s fund. What better way to celebrate valentine’s day than with a glass of bubbles or two. Everyone had a wonderful time, we had lots of fun with the quiz that tested our brain cells.
