Ruth’s 90th Birthday Celebration @Kent House

Today we celebrated a very special milestone as our lovely resident Ruth turned 90 years young!

To mark the occasion, we enjoyed not one, but TWO beautiful birthday cakes – because one simply wasn’t enough for such a wonderful celebration!

Ruth was surrounded by friends, staff, and lots of smiles as we celebrated her incredible life, sharing laughter, birthday wishes, and making more precious memories together.

Happy 90th Birthday, Ruth! Wishing you a year filled with happiness, good health, and many more reasons to celebrate.


Bird House Making @Woodhayes

We had a lovely time coming together to make a single wooden birdhouse for the garden.
Our volunteer Poppy joined in with her usual enthusiasm, and Austin — here on work experience — happily got involved too. It was a simple project that brought everyone together, sparking conversation, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.
Marlene had been carefully brightening the miniature birdhouse, using a pencil to sketch in extra details and give it a charming, personal touch. Residents enjoyed watching her bring the design to life with her gentle creativity.
Mike proudly showed off the wooden birdhouse we all worked on together. It was a lovely moment seeing Mike holding the finished piece, a reminder of how much joy a simple shared activity can bring.

Football Fan Zone @St Petrocs

We are delighted to welcome our residents to our new opened top Lounge, created especially for the World Cup celebrations.

This comfortable and inviting space provides the perfect space to watch the matches, relax with friend, nice snacks and fresh drinks and enjoy the excitement together. We look forward to many happy moments, great conversations, and shared memories as residents come together to socialise and cheer on their favourite teams.

We were delighted to Welcome our police community support officer Anton to St Petroc’s , residents enjoyed the visits , taking the opportunity to have friendly and fun conversation and to show support to England in the world cup.

A very big well done to Lucy!!

Lucy was recently invited to speak at the Care & Occupational Therapy Show at Westpoint Arena, where she gave a presentation on how she uses Famileo at The Manor to help residents stay connected with their loved ones. It was a fantastic opportunity to share some of the wonderful things we do here and the positive impact Famileo has on our residents and families. To prepare for the presentation, she spent many extra hours both at work and at home putting everything together, making sure she represented The Manor in the best possible way!

The sweetest visitor today!

We were delighted to welcome our manager’s beautiful newborn baby, Charlie, to the home today.

Charlie enjoyed lots of gentle cuddles and brought so many smiles to our residents’ faces. It was a truly heartwarming visit, with precious moments shared across the generations. Seeing the joy, laughter, and love that a tiny baby can bring reminds us just how special these connections are.

Thank you, Charlie, for making everyone’s day a little brighter—we can’t wait to see you again!

Pam’s Vibrant Birthday @Dove Tree House

Celebrating all things Pam for her birthday meant a new vibrant hair do to represent her fun personality and sparked plenty of compliments and conversation around the home. We had a wonderful time celebrating Pam’s birthday with her family, fellow residents, and staff. It was a lovely occasion filled with laughter, smiles, and special memories. Moments like these remind us that you’re never too old to dance!

What a fantastic afternoon we had at our care home!

Our residents were treated to a wonderful belly dancing performance, bringing plenty of music, colour and smiles to everyone’s day. The fun didn’t stop there – many of our residents joined in too, showing off their moves and enjoying every moment!

It’s always lovely to see everyone laughing, dancing and making special memories together. A huge thank you to our amazing entertainers for bringing such energy and joy to our home.

 

Family Day & Armed Forces Day @Primrose House

What a fantastic day we had celebrating Family Day & Armed Forces Day!

Residents, families and friends came together to enjoy a wonderful afternoon filled with great company, delicious food and plenty of smiles. A huge thank you to our fantastic ukulele band for providing such uplifting entertainment – everyone loved singing along and tapping their feet!

Our delicious buffet was enjoyed by all, making it the perfect opportunity to spend quality time together and celebrate the incredible Armed Forces community, past and present.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. Creating happy memories together is what it’s all about. 


Nina the Barn Owl @ Chollacott House

We have had a lovely visit from Nina the Barn Owl, Graham and his son Jamie. Graham gave a talk on the owl population we have in England which was very interesting. We then got to meet Nina and give her a lovely smooth down. This was very tactile and everyone enjoyed getting up close and personal with Nina. Nina was on her very best behaviour and enjoyed the attention she was given by everyone.
