Chollacott’s Wimbledon

Wimbledon came to Chollacott!

Our residents at Chollacott enjoyed their very own Wimbledon Day, filled with all the things that make a British summer so special!

There were plenty of strawberries and cream, refreshing Pimm’s, and lots of smiles, laughter and fun as everyone got into the Wimbledon spirit.

It was a wonderful afternoon of friendship, good company and a little taste of summer — a perfect day at Chollacott!

Nina the Barn Owl @ Chollacott House

We have had a lovely visit from Nina the Barn Owl, Graham and his son Jamie. Graham gave a talk on the owl population we have in England which was very interesting. We then got to meet Nina and give her a lovely smooth down. This was very tactile and everyone enjoyed getting up close and personal with Nina. Nina was on her very best behaviour and enjoyed the attention she was given by everyone.

A cycle around the Meadows @Chollacott

We had a lovely afternoon having a cycle around the meadows with Colin and the team from cycle without age. It was lovely to get out in the glorious sunshine and have the wind blowing through our hair. We are very lucky to have such a beautiful area right on our doorstep.

Chollacott’s Gardening Enthusiasts

We have been busy planting the pots up for the garden. Who knew we had some many green fingered people amongst us. We were lucky enough to venture outside to plant up the flower beds as well. Everyone is very pleased with their hard work and we can now sit back and watch everything grow.

Hopping into Easter @ Chollacott House

This month we had a coffee morning on Good Friday, where we enjoyed a selection of cakes, Easter themed party games and the Easter Bonnet winner was announced. Not forgetting our special guest the Easter Bunny himself.

Love is in the Air @ Chollacott House

We celebrated Valentine’s with a Valentine’s themed coffee morning, we had a Valentine’s quiz and we held a raffle for the resident’s fund. What better way to celebrate valentine’s day than with a glass of bubbles or two. Everyone had a wonderful time, we had lots of fun with the quiz that tested our brain cells.

This was a real team effort, you can see the finished work of art taking pride of place in the garden for all to see. Once all the hard work was done we then had an afternoon tea to celebrate remembrance Sunday.

Visiting Burrator Reservoir

This week some of our ‘Chollacott House’ residents took a trip out on the Wanderer for Ice Creams and a lovely visit to the beautiful Burrator Reservoir and then across the moors. Nothing beats some fresh country air and a sweet treat, before it gets to cold and bitter.
