100th Birthday Celebrations at The Manor
/in NewsHuge Congratulations to Joan at The Manor, who turned 100 a couple of weeks ago. A card arrived from The Queen, which has been framed and put on her bedroom wall. A party was held in her honour, with the dining room decorated with balloons and bunting, and tables set out in banqueting style. Friends, family and fellow residents enjoyed party food, cake and a glass or two of sherry. Joan refused to let any harm come to the donkey pinata, so it stayed intact for the duration of the party!
Ye Olde Bubble & Sweet Shop – Grand Opening!
/in NewsToday saw the Grand Opening of Ye Olde Bubble & Sweet Shop at Dove Tree House in Exeter. Residents and their visitors will be able to purchase sweets, snack, toiletries, magazines, puzzle books and so much more. And I believe their Christmas stock is due in any day now! Resident Barbara officially opened the shop, which is located in the home’s Ballroom on the first floor, by pulling the ribbon (because cutting it would have been a shame, quite frankly). Good luck – I am sure you’ll do a roaring trade!

/in NewsChollacott House resident come garden designer, Louise, has transformed the garden at the Drake Unit. By carefully selecting plants, flowers, shrubs and trees, she has created a wonderful scented, colourful, and peaceful place for residents and their visitors to enjoy. Fruit trees, sunflowers, tomatoes, runner beans, courgettes, lilacs, lavender – are all thriving in this little suntrap, with a draped sail providing shade from the midday sun. She has also created a willow canopy over a pretty wooden bench, again offering shade and privacy. Thank you Louise!
