So it was a very special Birthday for one of our ladies. Our wonderful Yollie has reached an incredible milestone, her 100th Birthday! Surrounded by friends, family and our caring team, Yollie enjoyed a day filled with laughter, love and plenty of cake. Its an honour to celebrate such a remarkable lady and her century of memories.
Christingle Time @ The Manor
/in NewsWe came together to celebrate Christingle. A simple and special reminder of love, connection and kindness at this time of year. It was lovely to share this moment with our residents and families/friends who came along. A big thank you to all the staff team who really came together to help me get each Christingle made in time by hand! A real team effort that made the day even more special! We enjoyed minced pies and singing our hearts out and loving every minute.
The beauty of Christmas @ Chollacott House
/in NewsThe Christmas Elves (Dhimo and Flavia) have been been busy getting Chollacott ready for Christmas they have done a brilliant job, Thank you for all your hard work. Father Matt and the church choir have been to preform Christmas Carol’s for us. We also had Father Matt and the church choir have been to preform Christmas Carol’s for us.
Everyone enjoyed Christmas Dinner together, it was lovely to have so many people all together. This created a very relaxed, happy atmosphere which made Christmas day even more special for everyone.
Christmas Time with family and friends @ St Petrocs
/in NewsWe were pleased as punch to be joined by so many lovely family members at our Christmas party – the lounge was fit to burst and filled with chatter and laughter! Everyone made such an effort to look festive and Christmassy in knitted jumpers and frocks! Christmas Eve at St. Petrocs was a merry affair. Spirits were high and our home was filled with smiles and laughter. This was often down to an appearance of one our many silly hats which our friends donned with glee! /in NewsThe festive period was full of joyful moments, from creating crafts with cinnamon sticks and baubles. We also had a visit from the local church and enjoyed singing carols with us.
Not forgetting the famous visitor we had- Santa came and wished all the residents Merry Christmas whilst handing out presents.
Spreading Some Musical Cheer @ Woodhayes
/in NewsGraeme comes to sing in the lounge on a monthly basis we really enjoy it not just the live music itself but how quickly the cheer spreads through the home. Unfortunately not all residents can make it to the lounge so it was decided for Graeme to visit some resident in their rooms for a sing song too.

/in NewsOur residents enjoyed a classic sweet treat of s’mores in this cold weather. Who doesn’t enjoy toasted marshmallows and chocolate outside?!
A Spot Of Snooker @ Primrose House
/in NewsWe had a game of snooker during men’s group last week! The cue was quite hard to hit the balls with, and so the gents improvised and used their hands instead for most of it. There was also a lot of cheating which made for lots of laughter!
Christmas Time @ The Manor
/in NewsChristmas snacks and drinks have begun here at The Manor! We’ve even started with the Christmas games! Mo and Sheila had great fun playing a festive game with Jacob, who bravely wore the inflatable reindeer antlers while they tried to toss the hoops over them! Our lovely residents have also enjoyed a lovely festive outing to the garden centre. We wrapped up warm, hopped on our bus, and spent the morning exploring the displays. Here we are soaking up the Christmas magic. So stay tuned for what is to come in December!!!

Remembrance Sunday Celebrations @ Chollacott House
/in NewsWe have all been busy with preparations for our out remembrance day tribute, many hands make light work. This was a real team effort, you can see the finished work of art taking pride of place in the garden for all to see. Once all the hard work was done we then had an afternoon tea to celebrate remembrance Sunday.
