Exeter Dementia Action Alliance Calendar 2021
/in NewsStonehaven are really proud to be sponsoring the 2021 Exeter Dementia Action Alliance Calendar. All the artwork is created by award winning Cartoonist Tony Husband, a friend of Stonehaven. The calendar is a great way to share the work of the EDAA across the city, raise local awareness about dementia through 2021 and enable them to continue their amazing work on a sustainable basis. Gina Awad, founder of the alliance popped into Dove Tree House last week to deliver some of the calendars hot off the press – they look fantastic!
VJ Day Celebrations at The Manor
/in NewsResidents enjoyed a trip down memory lane for the VJ (Victory over Japan) Day Celebrations on the 15th August. They watched a video and played music from 1945. They also enjoyed a truth session, answering questions about how it may have affected them as children or young adults. A few of the residents admitted to having American boyfriends and other shared such funny stories, they all in hoots of laughter! A lovely tea was served and the dining room beautifully decorated for the occasion.
Table Football!
/in NewsLock down and lack of visitors has meant looking at alternative sources of entertainment. The residents and staff at Dove Tree House have been having loads of fun with some good old traditional toys and games. Table Football the absolute favourite – although it’s all getting a bit competitive!

Making the most of the Sunshine
/in NewsThis beautiful sunshine has meant that we can now facilitate socially distanced family visits, in the garden. It’s been so good for our residents to see family face to face. Residents at The Manor even enjoyed a visit from the ice-cream van!
25 Years at St Petrocs
/in NewsCongratulations to the wonderful Lucille, who has been working at St Petrocs in Bodmin for 25 years! A lovely celebration took place in the home last week wher Lucille was presented with cards and presents from colleagues and residents.
Visitors to Chollacott House
/in NewsEven though we are not allowed visitors to come in to Chollacott to keep everybody safe, several residents have been able to see family and friends in the safety of the conservatory which has done wonders for their emotional well being.
Good weather for gardening!
/in NewsChollacott House resident, Will absolutely loves the outdoors and he has been enjoying some gardening, he has planted a selection of vegetables and strawberries and has to water them daily.
A Trip out in The Wanderer
/in NewsA few of the staff and residents at Kent House in Okehampton took a picnic up onto Dartmoor this week in the wanderer, to enjoy the sunshine and some fresh air. I think they all thoroughly appreciated a change of scenery after weeks of lockdown!
