Our residents have truly enjoyed the wonderful meals and the chance to get out and about at Westbank the last month. We’ve been making it a special tradition to visit every other week, not only to enjoy the tasty food but also to connect with the local community through quizzes and games. Here is Kay and I at Westbank last week – Roast chicken dinner followed by a quiz and a word search!

With the beautiful sunshine we have had recently it seemed rude to not have a garden party. Thankfully we were blessed with the weather on the day and enjoyed some delicious cake and time together in the garden. We then had a sing along afternoon as we were provided entertainment from a residents family member.

The Tennis competition started off with a hit! Everyone took part with tremendous effort, there were no boundaries that we couldn’t overcome. Caroline was very competitive and showed us all how it was done. She made it look all far to easy from the comfort of her chair. Everyone deserved a medal, but they were treated to pimms instead.

Geoff’s birthday wish was to have a ride on the local steam train. This was a dream that we made come true for Geoff’s special 70th birthday and he had a fantastic time.
Geoff was then surprised by family and friends back at St Petrocs.

Chef Pati wanted to go all out for the ‘Wimbledon Celebrations’ and was serving up Eton mess and zero stress – the real queen of sweet treats at The Manor!
We did however have to serve up a warning for some of our residents- Warning! Eton mess cakes may cause uncontrollable smiling and spontaneous whipped cream mustaches.
For Mo’s birthday not only did she want to celebrate with everyone but she had decided it was her 21st birthday again. It was so lovely not only to see her being cheeky and smiling with all the other residents but they got involved with the 21st again theme too.
