We are delighted that the majority of our residents and staff have now received both doses of the vaccine, and the three week efficacy period has passed. While there is no guarantee it will prevent infection or transmission, we hope it offers some protection for everybody, so we remain ever vigilant.
We have now reinstated visits to our external Visitor rooms and are also allowing in-home visits from two nominated people per resident. Of course, all visits will be by appointment only as we cannot let everyone in at the same time, and we need to ensure we have everything in place to LFD test all visitors prior to admission. End of life visits continue to be faciliated. Please contact the homes’ Manager if you wish to visit.
Outdoor visits can now take place away from the care home – in a park, a beach, a pub garden, etc. As the advice states there is still significant risk to our residents despite infection rates being low, hence why it is only the named constant visitors that can undertake these visits outside of the home. Any visits outside of the home will need to be pre-arranged with the manager and times agreed so that we know when the constant visitor will be arriving to be tested and when we can expect the resident back.
New admissions to our homes will be considered on a case by case basis, where all infection control protocols can be guaranteed, and a series of negative tests obtained prior to admission.
We are very grateful for everybody’s support and understanding throughout this period, let us continue to work together to keep our homes safe.
Please do not hesitate to contact the Home Manager or our Support Office if you have any concerns or wish discuss anything.
Please take care.
