Travelling back in time to 50s & 60s @ The Lilacs

💜 World Alzheimer’s Day at The Lilacs 💜 For World Alzheimer’s Day, we decided to take a trip down memory lane and step back in time to the fabulous 1950s & 1960s! Our home was transformed with a wonderful themed wall, colourful posters celebrating the fashion and music of the era, and plenty of nostalgia. Our residents enjoyed dancing to some classic tunes, reminiscing about days gone by and sharing their own special memories. As part of another meaningful activity, residents wrote their own messages and placed them into bottles, creating our beautiful Alzheimer’s Bottle Tree. Each bottle represents a memory, a thought, or a message close to the heart. We also enjoyed a variety of memory card games, putting minds to the test while having lots of fun and laughter along the way! And of course, no trip back to the 50s & 60s would be complete without a lovely glass of sherry and a delicious buffet! It was a wonderful day filled with music, memories, laughter, dancing and togetherness reminding us that every memory and every story is worth celebrating.
